About Jacklyn Keagy

Jacklyn (Jaci) Keagy is a director, actor, and teacher active in the York Area theatrical community since 1987. 

As a director: . She was the play and musical director at Dover Area High School (DAHS) for 28 years. In her tenure there, she directed over 50 productions, including most recently, AnnieLes MiserablesJoseph and the Amazing Technicolor DreamcoatCharlie and the Chocolate Factory, To Kill a MockingbirdUp the Down Staircase, Shrek, Fiddler on the Roof, To See the Stars, The Miracle Worker and Mary Poppins(Click here for a listing of her productions at DAHS.)  

After retiring from Dover, she became a guest director at The Belmont Theatre (formerly York Little Theatre), DreamWrights Center for Community Arts, and Orangemite. (Click her for a listing of her productions as a guest director.)

As an Actor: : As an actor, she has appeared in over twenty productions at York Little Theatre (now the Belmont Theatre) and other community-based theatrical organizations including Orangemite and DreamWrights, She has performed with the York Symphony Orchestra.

As a Teacher: As a full-time faculty member, she taught Drama, Public Speaking and English. She was also a class advisor, director of the school's theatrical troupe The Traveling Players, and a founding member of the Rosies, a showcase for York County scholastic theatre programs (now Encore). 

Prior to coming to DAHS, was on the artistic staff of William Penn Performing Arts Institute. She has also participated in educational workshops on a variety of topics.

​Mrs. Keagy is a graduate of Kutztown University with a degree in Speech and Theatre and earned teaching certification in Communication Arts from York College. She also has a Master’s degree in Education from Pennsylvania State University
